HOOKAH KILLS

DISCUSSION BOARD

Hookah is usually used in social venues where people share the hookah.
When smoking hookah, people can spread viruses and other microbes which can lead to infections like Herpes and Tuberculosis. It has been proven that tobacco usage increases cancer, heart disease and can lead to problems with fertility and low birth weight babies.

Share your love not your Hookah! You owe it to you, and your baby.
Hookah is a new social smoking trend using flavored tobacco. Although
opponents feel that Hookah is different from cigarettes smoking there has been
little scientific evidence that positively supports Hookah use as it relates to
health. In the US, there has been a increase in the visibility and acceptance of
hookah bars. The health behavior is smoking and socializing in smoking
environments but the venue and the accessibility is far different than
traditional cigarettes and cigars. Hookah smoking delivers about the same amount
of nicotine as cigarette smoking does, possibly leading to tobacco dependence.
Hookah pipes used in hookah bars and cafes may not be cleaned properly, risking
the spread of infectious diseases. The growth of hookah as an exotic cool social
phenomenon will pay a toll for America’s health.
Some adverse health effects that have been supported by scientific research
include:
· Cancers (Lung, Bladder, Esophagus, etc.)
· Heart Disease
· Poor Hearing
· Gum Disease
· Decreased Hearing
· Low birth weights
· Infectious diseases like Herpes, Tuberculosis, and Hepatitis
Don’t Get Hooked On Hookah!

Smoking one hookah is equivalent to smoking 100 cigarettes. More nicotine and more tar. More Gum disease!
Hookah has nicotine which can lead to psychological and physical additions like cigarette. Quitting may be hard but you owe it to yourself.
